From the Latin: apathos – a, “without” and pathos, “emotion”…….without emotion. Apathy

In this day and age it is so easy for me to just slip out of passion for God…and this is me being honest (in other words, it’s not easy to admit).

But it doesn’t make sense…I believe God exists and that He sent His Son, Christ, to die for me. So why do I lose passion? I mean what He has done and is doing is amazing! Think of what He has done and what He’s doing!!!

But then I slip out of passion. It’s like I fall asleep in my awareness of and love for God…

It’s like all of a sudden – swoosh --- there it goes. It’s like it is blindly taken away from me…

Every once in a while I become apathetic (definition above) toward the things of God.

How about you? Right now? Have you lost the passion you once had? Does your passion for God seem to come and go? Rise and fall? It’s there one day, but the next it just disappears? Or has it been gone for a while?

Hmmm…let me think: Why would our passion fluctuate? Why would our emotions for the things of God go up and down?

Satan’s Experiments for this generation: Make God’s people apathetic

But why would Satan want to make us emotionless? Why would he want to steal our passion?

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…     John 10:10

Well, I believe it’s pretty simple: Satan removes passion = we become uncaring = people don’t see or hear Christ through us.

And if we don’t live representing Christ and the message of salvation…then Satan gets more people to go to hell with him.

But NO! We must stop allowing ourselves to slip into these areas of apathy! Satan makes it so easy! Because to become apathetic, we don’t have to do anything…all we have to do is sit. And that’s where Satan’s power lies – in nothingness.

But again, no! We were not given spirits without passion! We, who are in Christ, have been given spirits with passion! “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God…For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7)

So what do we do?

Well Jesus, speaking to the church of Sardis, said, “I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.” Let’s stop right here again. Is that you?

If so, read on to the solution: “Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die...Remember, therefore what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.”    Revelation 3:1-3

What’s the solution? Strengthen what remains and is about to die.

Did you used to read God’s Word more often?

Do it.

Did you used to pray more often?

Restart talking with God, your Creator – and again do it more often.

Repent (turn) and do the things you did at first.

Bottom line: WAKE UP! We all need to wake up to the reality of what is going on around us! We need to wake up and remember who died for us, why he died for us and how we don’t deserve it! We need to pray for forgiveness and pray God gives us passion again!

And then you will once again see yourself with passion for the things of God.

Satan is trying to make us apathetic to the things of God! But here’s the deal: he has to bow to the name of Christ.

So tell him to leave in the name of Christ. Explain to him how he will no longer have power over you…and then run to Christ, pray again for passion………and RUN!

Pray

Read

Run! (and I mean it! I’ll run with you! Let’s run with Christ to accomplish the mission He has given us! Matthew 28:18-20)

For those of you who don’t yet know Christ:

…you probably would say that you have always been apathetic toward God (or maybe for you it was passion against God). He offers you Life (notice the capital “L”). As I noted above, God sent His Son Jesus Christ as payment for your sins – He died for you – because He loves you. God said your payment could be met in Christ…and He loves you so much that He did give His only Son (John 3:16). And now He says, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me” (Revelation 3:20). That signifies a relationship. Will you open the door to the Messiah, Savior, Christ? God’s grace? If you feel him “knocking” on your heart, will you open the door and say, “Come in…”?

“…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10

If you feel Christ invading your life right now, open up and give him your life. If you have more questions about how to begin a relationship with God, call or text me @ 405-315-4837 or Facebook message me…

Because whoever finds God……..finds Life!

Satan's Experiments for This Generation: Week 2 - Words of Freedom

Satan tries to get us to believe that following God's Word, the Bible, is like putting chains on...it is pressurizing, burdening, and stressful.

But in REALITY, God's Word brings freedom...and that is what this message is about.

We are revealing Satan's Experiments for This Generation! Watch the video below and I pray God releases you from this lie of Satan!

In Christ!

Right now I am flying at 11,500ft in a private plane…and I was just thinking how interesting it is with the different viewpoints we get throughout life.

You know, one day my viewpoint will be one completely looking at God.

The next day I’ll be looking at my own wants.

And I’ve found that everyday my focus is completely on God I am completely full of joy!

Focus & viewpoint completely on God = complete joy

So why do I keep going back to a mindset and viewpoint of life focused on me? It’s one of Satan’s experiments for this generation. He deceives us into thinking we'll have more joy focusing on what we want and attaining those things.

But every time I pull a switcheroo (that’s an actual word by the way) and focus on God, I am filled with so much more happiness and joy!

Chance? No, it’s just how God has set things up. We keep our view and focus on Him and life is better!

And I’m glad….b/c I love God and it reminds me to constantly be with Him.

Life sucky? Pull a switcheroo and change your life focus to God. It’s God’s way of life.

I encourage you to pray that God helps renew and refine your mind to constantly look at life with a perspective focused on Him….and His love.

God bless you!

And as a quick side note: Of course we have to think about certain things throughout life, like school, work, and life in general. But we need to go throughout life with a focus and perspective centered on God…Just make sure he is first and then comes school, work and etc.

Because that’s how God created life to be beautiful!

Satan’s experiment is to distract you and change your view to one looking away from God.

But we know to keep our eyes on the King :) !

Discussion Questions:

Is your current life perspective focused on God?

How does Satan try to distract you or remove your focus from God?

Identify those things and pray for God’s help concerning them! He loves you so much!!

wk 1: Intro

God, may you bring us out of the deceptions and lies of Satan and into your Truth….

Jesus, speaking of Satan, said “…the devil…was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false.” John 8:44 AMP

The New International Version uses the phrase “native tongue” to describe the devil’s lying nature.

The next few weeks we will be talking about the devil’s schemes and tricks I see him currently using in our generation. You might honestly see some of them affecting you…so I would encourage you to read intently and pray for God’s eye-opening and healing for you. Let’s go ahead and jump in!

First off, I think it’s very important to start this series with each of us recognizing the reality of the “devil” and of his nature – so that is what I want to do this week.

---

To me, it’s pretty simple to believe Satan is real. Over time Scripture has been tried and tested…and proven true. And personally, in my life, God had spoken to me through Scripture. So when I put 2 and 2 together, I get this: The Bible is God’s Word. God’s Word talks about Satan. Therefore Satan must be real.

And then we can take all the things the Bible says about Satan and begin to understand the nature of this real, supernatural being.

He’s a schemer. I’m a schemer too, but this guy is of a different perspective and league. I say, “I want to trick my friend into thinking I’m dead,” or “I’m going to dress up like a Walmart manager and redo my friend’s Walmart ID so it looks like I’m a regional manager, put on a wig and fake black mustache and go to Walmart and try to trick the managers into thinking I’m superior in authority to them.” (that was a long sentence!)

But Satan’s of a different league. He genuinely wants to trick you. Not for fun, but to hurt. Disrupt. Steal. Kill. Destroy. (John 10:10) Everything that matters to the heart of God, he wants to hurt. So that pretty much sums up all of humanity (John 3:16).

He wants to distract you. So he’ll do everything he can to warp your mindset.

And those are the things we will be talking about and bringing into light beginning next week.

So, as for right now, I encourage you to read Ephesians 6:10-18 and begin to study this in waiting for next week’s message. This passage will teach you how to fight against Satan's schemes. God loves you and doesn't want you to fall for them...so that's why He put those verses in the Bible. Maybe read a verse a day. IDK, but just trust me: Satan will probably try to stop you from reading this series – so pray for yourselves (as I will be praying for you too) and make a commitment to read each week. Cause I’m darn sure he doesn’t like me spoiling his schemes (I know this, because I sure hate it when people spoil mine!).

I want to take a second to thank all of you who read this blog. It really means a lot to me! I also believe it means a lot to God that we join in together to get into His Word! So, thank you! I also want to give a shout out of thanks to God for everything He is doing here! Thank you God!!

My Final Lesson from Kenya

Hey, over the past month I’ve spoken to all of you about a broad range of things I learned in Kenya, but there is one person I have spoken of the entire time: God.

There is a reason I’m speaking to you about God. I don’t just think He’s cool…if that was all I thought of Him I’d also be speaking to you about cars, my friend Paul Hobbs and the movie Transformers.

No, the reason I’ve been speaking about God, and the whole reason I write this blog is because I believe He is the single most important “one” there is. He’s not just something extra that I write about, but He IS what, whom, I write about – because He is so important to me.

So instead of me communicating more to you right now, I want you to communicate with God.

So I’m asking, daring (yes, I just threw out a triple-dog, no erasee dare your way), you to approach God for the next 5 minutes. Here is a possible structure you could use (bend it whichever way you’d like!):

5 Minutes
- 1 Minute talking to God and seeking Him
- 4 Minutes waiting and listening to Him

And do this all recognizing that He wants to talk to you and communicate with you (otherwise I don’t think He would have made you)…

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you…’” Jeremiah 29:11-14

Start talking to God….

Now for those of you who don’t yet have a relationship with God, know that it is not something you earn, but something you are given. God loves giving something called grace – a free gift. The Bible says in Romans chapter 5 – “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly…God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  You see, it’s a gift…from God. See, sin separates us from God, but He gave the greatest gift of grace ever recorded in history – and gave him the name Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ is God’s perfect Son who died in your place for your sinful ways (just like he died for mine)…He didn’t do this to neglect you or push you away, but to open up the possibility of a relationship between you and His Father, God…Because sin separates us from God, He had to do this in order for us to be made right with the Father…and Scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) It also says, “…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is LORD,’ and believe [trust] in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

And know it is by faith you are saved, not works……Ephesians 2:8, 9

Begin a relationship with God today…

And everyone reading…right now, take the extra time of reading I have freed up (by shortening this) to get in touch with God for the next 5 minutes at least.

Picture
This post will take just 5-10 minutes of your time...so please enjoy as you read! I ask you to just think about the discussion questions I wrote at the bottom of this message...and for some of you who are willing, please post your answers! I will be! I ask that you at least think over them...

And now to Week 5 of Lessons from Kenya:

FIRM

Travelling across the globe to a different country, and then travelling 9 hours across that country to another location within it, you’d expect to find some stark differences in life. And that is exactly what I found!

For example, fish, in Kenya, are considered fresh sitting outside on a table, in the marketplace, for 21 days! That is 21 days of flies gathering on the fish, of the sun warming it past the “danger zone” (I remember watching an instructional video in health class on the danger zone – it even had a song with the message of “More than 2 hours out of the cold – Danger ZonE!” That main character would gasp at these fish!!), and of those fish being dead. Let me tell you – that is not fresh fish!

But like I said it can be assumed that there will be drastic differences due to drastic distances, between us and them.

However, when travelling to the far “bush”, or countryside, in Kenya – I found an awesome similarity –

God’s Word still stands firm.

He loves these people – just like He said He loves the whole world – and you can see the love of God within them.

His Word still says the same things. And those things are still true.

For example, do you remember what we talked about last week? The boy with the demon?
In Matthew 17 there is a demon-possessed boy whom Jesus comes in contact with. The boy had been under the control of the demon for a very long time; In fact, just like the boy that we talked about last week, the demon often tried to throw him into fire or water to kill him (water = drowning). In the verses within the story, we see that Jesus had authority over it. The Scripture says, in verse 18 – “Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment.” And Jesus himself even said in Matthew 28, some of his very last words before ascending to heaven:

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

And also – “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father…” (John 14:12)

Let me tell you – the Kenyan pastor we were with rebuked the demon in the name of Jesus Christ – and it left immediately. He did what Jesus did. And what Jesus did happened. God’s Word stood firm.

And it still does.

My dad is a Bible collector. He buys and collects old Hebrew, Greek, Latin and English Bibles. It’s amazing how I hold in my left hand (a 1483AD, Latin Bible) the same Bible, Word of God, that I hold in my right hand (a 2004AD, English Bible). They are both the same Bible, the Word of the living God!

Let me tell you – God’s Word stands firm. God’s Word stands firm through all nations and times – and it proclaims The Truth.

God’s Word & promises, declarations and proclamations are consistent, persistent, relevant, and insistent even TODAY! He is God – and HIS WORD stands True! Above all!

Isn’t that amazing?

So trust in His Word! Believe it – ask questions – it’s okay! I do! Ask God to open your eyes to the Truth of His Word…and keep asking until He does.

I think one of the most awesome proclamations in Scripture is found in the book of Romans, chapter 8, and it reads like this (and remember – it still stands) –

…the righteousness that is by faith…what does it say? ‘The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,’ that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming:
That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved…As the Scripture says, ‘Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.’” Romans 10:6, 8-9, 11

Call on his name.

His Word stands firm…even today…even in this nation…even in these times.
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Matthew 24:35

Realize the power of God and the power, endurance and firmness of His Word and promises! It is truly beautiful :)!

Go ahead and pray that God opens your eyes to the breadth of just how awesome His Word is…ask Him to let you see it…and again – keep asking until He opens your eyes :).

So, to sum everything up: God’s Power within His Word is still living and breathing. It is still relevant! He is still alive and so is His Word. They have stood through all times…and will continue to be just as powerful til the very end of days.
I praise God, the Holy Spirit & Jesus Christ for this wonderful gift they have given us!

May we never neglect to utilize it or meditate on it…Any page you open up to is His Word – so pray, “God, please speak to me,” with a believing heart and then open the Bible up and take it to heart and be amazed at what you read.

Discussion Questions:
Do you treat God’s Word as if Mt 24:35 (above) is true?
What of God’s Word have you seen come true?
If God’s Word is firm…then should we worry? What should we trust in?
If God’s Word was truly divinely-inspired when written, then don’t you think God would protect it? Make sure it lasts? Keep it accurate? It sure seems like He would!

Go ahead and answer those questions below! And don’t be afraid to bring up questions about the Bible’s authenticity – questions are great!

In Christ!

Lessons from Kenya: Supernatural

After this week’s post, there will be two more for the series, “Lessons from Kenya.” Immediately following, we will be starting a shorter series called, “SEx For This Generation.” Sound cheesy or corny? Yea. But it’s a killer series God has really been working in me for a while – so I hope you’ll read and join in discussion!

This week I want to continue with week 4 of Lessons from Kenya:

Remember: God’s Power

I experienced in Kenya something else that really, really blew me away –

God is real – and so is evil.

And they are both spiritually present in your lives and in mine…

Before I went to Kenya (and I hope you won’t think I’m crazy right here), I had honestly experienced some of Satan’s presence here on earth…and it was honestly scary at first.

In Kenya, however, I experienced way more than I had bargained for – I literally saw a teenager possessed by a demon. I know some people won’t believe me (and I acknowledged that right after it happened), but just let me tell you these two things:

1)      The Kenyan pastor who was there with us told us that demonic possessions are common occurrences.

2)      Whenever the demon took over the teenager, the pastor (after about 5 seconds) rebuked the demon in the name of Jesus Christ – and it immediately left.

This is the order of events:

The boy is kneeling waist-deep in water, getting ready to be baptized.

He starts to faint (at least that is what I thought he was doing at first), but when the pastors try to lift him out of the water it seems as if he is forcibly pushing head first into the water.

He begins to do something I don’t know how to explain (but I’ll try anyway – it was kind of like his body was convulsing out of the water) and makes a noise I can only describe as “tisking” (the noise of disapproval).

He then screams the Name of Jesus.

(You could see the disconnect he had of control over his body.)

That is when the pastor commanded the demon to leave by the very Name it had just yelled……and it was gone. The room was quiet. The boy was baptized and walked away with teary eyes.

2 things I want you to get out of this:

1)      The Devil’s presence and footprint are very real in this world.

and       2) The Name of Jesus Christ still reigns supreme over everything and everyone.

Don’t take these lightly. Read over them again before you continue on…and understand how real the words are…

Jesus Christ is the Lord. He is the King; the Son of God. God is not only my God, but He is also my Lord (Master). I choose to serve Him.

Just knowing God…..I never want to leave His presence. He’s so loving, caring, faithful and amazing.

But sometimes I find myself “waking up” and realizing I haven’t been seeking Him as much as I should have. Maybe you’re in that place right now – and I’d say to you, “Seek Him!!” RUN after Him! Don’t be lukewarm about it, but SPRINT! GO! He IS Life!

The ways of being stagnant and lukewarm come from the Devil – they are tools of Satan. Don’t let him win you over – but RUN to Jesus Christ, to God. Call on His Name again, or for the very first time. Fall at His feet and worship the True King…

God is real…and so is evil. I sure as heck am glad I am with God on this one. I’m praying that you are and/or that you may be today.

I encourage you to read Matthew 17:14-18 and recognize the similarities between the above situation and the one Jesus Christ faced in those verses above. I then encourage you to read verses 19-21 for encouragement J!

Our God reigns! Thank You Lord for our Savior, Sustainer, Redeemer and Freer Jesus Christ!

This is another life lesson I really learned from the people living in the dump, who had smiles on their faces as they praised God...

God should not be followed based on our circumstances. If we follow God based on our current life seasons, we’re not really following God. He is God. If we love Him, we will follow Him no matter the situation we are in – scary or stressful family situation, school situation, or life situation; Living in a mansion, a small house or without a house in a trash dump. Emotionally scared, stressed or scarred…Our worship of God shouldn’t change with our life seasons.

King David knew this. I love what K.D., in the Bible called a man after (or down from) God’s own heart, said. He, writing down words from his heart in the Psalms, wrote,

                                         “But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.” (Psalm 13:5-6)

What is good? “Jared…from what I see, I mean, I honestly would have to say that I don’t think God is being good to me (or my family) (or my relative) (or my friend) (or my _______ )”

Well, I think it’s interesting to look at what the “man after God’s own heart” saw as good. In the Psalm portion above from chapter 13, King David wrote, “I will sing to the LORD, for he has been good to me.” That word “good” in the Hebrew (which is the language in which this book was originally written) is the word Gāmal. I love this so much – the word Gāmal also means to make ripe.

King David was praising God because God had been good to him…..because God had been ripening him, maturing him. This “good” isn’t based on circumstances, but on the overall picture of what God is doing in our lives! King David was praising God because no matter what his current situations looked like, God was ripening him! There is hope in this! No matter what your situation looks like – realize – God can use it to mature you; and praise Him for that.

When our current life seasons makes us feel uncertain, we can be clear of one thing: Our Heavenly Father, God, is not uncertain.

Our lives’ circumstances should not determine our relationship we have with God.

The life situations we go through shouldn’t halter our praise for or relationship with our heavenly Father.

He loves you – never forget that; He may be wanting to ripen you.

God is good, all the time.............and all the time, God is good (if you’re one of those people that say “Amen” aloud in church, now would be a great time to do just that :)   )

I pray God’s peace, love and faith-builders for you all! I pray He may open all of your eyes to the truth of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the freedom and redemption and salvation that can only be attained through Him. God's best to you!

Zebra face
The Zebra (zeh-bruh)
a much softer topic

The lion slowly got up and pinpointed its target.  Slowly brushing past the tall brush, it gazed at its next meal. One paw at a time, until it stopped. Then sat down.

That’s what happened for about 30 minutes as we watched a lion hunting an injured zebra. It was interesting how the lion, at first, sat, looking at all the animals, until it intelligently zoned in on the one that he knew he could take – the injured zebra. Now, I could get into a cool lesson over the lion, but I want to focus more-so on his prey: the zebra.

The zebra is best known for its stripes. The black and white, vertical and horizontal stripes have always seemed to interest humans. When I started thinking about the zebra and its stripes, I came to an amazing thought:

The stripes of a zebra seriously attest to a Designer.

Just as an artist would paint beautiful stripes on a canvas, it seems that God just beautifully showed his artistry by painting the zebra. Just looking at the zebra makes me realize, even more, that this universe is not random…it didn’t come by just chance or by a “big bang” that led to the creation of everything from nothing. The stripes of a zebra really attest to a Creator, a Designer, who intricately and beautifully designed everything.

In fact, as far as I’ve been able to research, scientists have yet to come up with valid reasoning as to how the zebra got its stripes. I just typed out the different info I’ve gathered from a college textbook on Developmental Biology and from a U.K. newspaper, but decided not to post it. Because it just keeps pointing to the same point: Scientists can explain facts about the current presence of stripes and the possible uses the zebra has for them…but they cannot explain how they got there.

A Designer drew them.

Romans 1:20 – “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” Thinking about what I just wrote about the zebra, doesn’t that make you smile? :) It makes me!

The stripes of a zebra beautifully, brilliantly, and boldly proclaim the presence of the Creator and Designer: God – who also created you. And a beautiful life story he has planned for you :).

Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you…

Listen to God as He leads you through life. His plans are amazing! Better than ours could ever be…There’s a problem though – sin separates us from God (so it’ll be hard to understand or even see His plan for your life if you don’t even have a relationship with Him). There’s a beautiful solution – Jesus Christ. His Son, who He sent to take your sins and die with them. God then raised him from the dead – this all points to what Christ wants us to know – if you trust in him you will be saved. Christ is the only way to God…the only way. It’s another one of God’s beautifully designed plans. And here’s another awesome part – you’re part of that plan. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

Here’s another awesome part: “He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

The truth is that the end of the world is near. We all know this…we can feel it. And the truth is that at any second you or I could die. The only question is this: Are you ready?

Begin a relationship with God today. Open yourself to Him. Pray He comes into you. Believe and ask for forgiveness….seek Him. And when you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13).

There is a Designer and a Planner. It’s God – and we are invited into His story :).

I recently got back from a 17-day mission trip in Kenya, the second one on which I’ve been. I will be posting some amazing things God has shown me through this incredible experience. My heartaches…heartlifts…reality checks…and just God-in-my-face moments. I pray God will open your hearts and eyes to whatever He needs to in these next few weeks of posts.

Love

In Kenya, you will find the worst possible conditions in which a person can be living (or as my American mindset would say, “If that’s even called living”).

Yet, nowhere else in my life have I felt so much love.

It’s crazy. It really is. This does not make sense.

These people have nothing. They are losing family members. Many of them are on their own, because everybody else they used to love and know has died. They work their butts off. They barely make any money, if even. Those that have homes go home to hot, muggy huts that often cost them more than they even make. Those that don’t have homes, like a young boy I met named Dulius, go back to their standard marketplace or street sleeping spot. Or like the people I met in the dump (a huge trash dump the size of a football field), who go “home” to their rut in the trash, or if they’re lucky, to their trash-cardboard-made, 3-walled enclosure. I am not exaggerating – I’m sure you’ve seen it on TV.

And the world looks on, saying, “See! Where is God? Where is God in all of this? If He is real – He would not let this happen!”

Yet these people I met in Kenya are the ones with the greatest joy and faith in God I have ever seen.

It makes me think twice about what really matters in life. It makes me think that the Bible is right when it says life is not about money, fame, me or anything else, but God. In fact, when I look at the two different mindsets I just listed above, it makes me think that we may have warped mindsets. Doesn’t it make you?

Psalm 138:6: Though the Lord is on high, he looks upon the lowly, but the proud he knows from afar.

Psalm 69:32: The poor will see and be glad— you who seek God, may your hearts live!

Jeremiah 29:13: You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

YOU – seek Him. Now. Don’t wait – too often it is too late. Seek Him. Seek Him. Go…

Jesus Christ is truly the only way to Life.  We only have freedom in him. He took everything and changed it. How beautiful! Start, or re-start, a relationship with God today. Only through Jesus Christ – His perfect, sinless, stainless, Son can we have perfect life with him and God. Why? Because He became our imperfect, sinful, stained selves. He took your sins upon himself – and was pleased to do it because he wanted you to have a relationship with the Father. Sin separates us from God – and Christ is the opposite of sin. Believe Christ is who he says he is – “the way and the truth and the life” (John 14:6) and you will be saved – it’s his words - “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).

He is Life. Without him we have nothing – really – and with him we have everything.
