The Oxford English Dictionary defines procrastination as “verb delay or postpone action.” I actually find it very funny that procrastination is a verb. That brings procrastination into a new light.
We feel tired. We don’t feel likedoing what we have to do; need to do. Rather than focusing all of our energies on completing what we have to do (and therefore doing it well), we do something else: procrastinate.
The fact that procrastination is an action shows how ridiculously crazy we are: we delay doing something we have to do which makes us stress out and worry about it. Ah! Sounds like fun!
Hello, I’m Jared. I’m a procrastaholic by nature (I know, I’m ashamed…). Let’s be honest, procrastination isn’t something that’s rare with people our age. I think that’s why God made me hate it. Now, when I say hate, I’m delivering a Simon Cowell –style “dis” right there. It is appalling. A monstrosity. If I could kill it, I would – and then I would kill it again (the second time being pure pleasure). OK, I’m getting carried away; back on track!
God recently healed me of my procrastination. He gave me a new, “Get er done!” mindset that I LOVE! Rather than stressing, I now complete tasks on time & beautifully (it’s a sin to lie, so I had to be honest there J).
GOD wants to heal you of your procrastination problems, too. So, what do you do?
PRAY. I did a lot of this about my procrastination and time-wasting.
Talk to God. Tell Him your problem and how you want to overcome it for His Glory. And keep praying. Oh, and keep praying. Believe.
When you feel like procrastinating – delaying or postponing an action – do what I do: remember the Nike slogan: “Just Do It”!
Oh, it feels really good when you just do it!
One area we especially don’t want to procrastinate in is our relationship with God. Even now, I procrastinate in certain aspects of it. For me, it’s often reading the Bible (God’s been helping me!). What we especially don’t want to procrastinate in is the securing of our eternity. Don’t procrastinate by just thinking about it. Our years are short!
Hebrews 3 says, ““See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first. As has just been said:
“Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.”"
Please decide, TODAY, to SECURE your place in Heaven.If not now, when?

This week I have finals so I’m going to keep the post short today by asking a simple question.
What process / way / mind-set do you find helps you best manage your time?

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:1 – “Remember your Creator, in the days of your youth…”
Why would God’s Word tell us to remember Him…?
It must be because He knows it’s so easy to forget Him in these years of our lives.
Think about it: how many days & activities have you ventured through…all without keeping God in mind?
I surely find myself forgetting God in areas of my day.
But the Bible says to “Remember your Creator, in the days of your youth…”
Every day.
It also says, in 2 Timothy 2:8, “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead…”
Yet I don’t always remember him.
This is where the solution comes into play: spending your morning with Them.
It's not a complete fix to the problem, but it greatlyhelps. It sets order!
In the New Testament, the Bible says “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed…” (Mark 1:35)
Alone time with God is so extremely vital. Especially morning time, when we get up – it’s such a vital part of starting our day. In fact, it’s so important, that Jesus did it.
I encourage you to start your day off (tomorrow or today) in alone time with God – because this will help you focus on and remember Him throughout the day. Go ahead, set your phone calendar/alarm now! And do it!
Remember………remember. Never forget…
Why? Because what needed to be forgotten is forgotten (see below), now it’s time to constantly remember God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit….the love….and it’s time to praise.
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
“Remember your Creator, in the days of your youth…”

Q1: Have you been remembering God? Be honest here, because dishonesty to yourself in this question will only lead to more problems.
Q2: Where do you drift away from God (time-wise) the most? Where do you lose track of Him?
In response to your answer on Q2, I propose this: Start seeking God in the front, middle, and end of those times. It is vital - so vital - because nothing is more important than God, even though everything around us is trying to compete for what He deserves - our thoughts, attitudes, hearts, minds, and strengths.

How do we overcome? We realize,

and re-prioritize and get back alone time with God.
When I have alone time with God, I feel so close to Him, hear Him so clearly, and praise Him so much. When I miss alone time with Him...I feel distant, feel like I can't hear Him at all, and praise Him not nearly as much.
That shows how important making room for God is in our every day lives.
I encourage you to read the Word....God's Word, the Bible, and meditate on it and simply talk and listen to God throughout the process. Throughout your day make reminders in your cell phone calendar...and post-it-notes...and little reminder tools of any sort.
Just don't be the average person as God said...................................no, make room for Your God! We make time for what we value!
One more quick note: I don't even really like calling it "making" room for God. - If you are taking notes, remember this: We don't find time for God, we don't make time for God, but we take the time He has so graciously given us and say, "I will praise You!"

My Final Lesson from Kenya
Hey, over the past month I’ve spoken to all of you about a broad range of things I learned in Kenya, but there is one person I have spoken of the entire time: God.
There is a reason I’m speaking to you about God. I don’t just think He’s cool…if that was all I thought of Him I’d also be speaking to you about cars, my friend Paul Hobbs and the movie Transformers.
No, the reason I’ve been speaking about God, and the whole reason I write this blog is because I believe He is the single most important “one” there is. He’s not just something extra that I write about, but He IS what, whom, I write about – because He is so important to me.
So instead of me communicating more to you right now, I want you to communicate with God.
So I’m asking, daring (yes, I just threw out a triple-dog, no erasee dare your way), you to approach God for the next 5 minutes. Here is a possible structure you could use (bend it whichever way you’d like!):
5 Minutes - 1 Minute talking to God and seeking Him - 4 Minutes waiting and listening to Him
And do this all recognizing that He wants to talk to you and communicate with you (otherwise I don’t think He would have made you)…
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you…’” Jeremiah 29:11-14
Start talking to God….
Now for those of you who don’t yet have a relationship with God, know that it is not something you earn, but something you are given. God loves giving something called grace – a free gift. The Bible says in Romans chapter 5 – “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly…God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” You see, it’s a gift…from God. See, sin separates us from God, but He gave the greatest gift of grace ever recorded in history – and gave him the name Jesus Christ.Jesus Christ is God’s perfect Son who died in your place for your sinful ways (just like he died for mine)…He didn’t do this to neglect you or push you away, but to open up the possibility of a relationship between you and His Father, God…Because sin separates us from God, He had to do this in order for us to be made right with the Father…and Scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) It also says, “…if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is LORD,’ and believe [trust] in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
And know it is by faith you are saved, not works……Ephesians 2:8, 9
Begin a relationship with God today…
And everyone reading…right now, take the extra time of reading I have freed up (by shortening this) to get in touch with God for the next 5 minutes at least.
